  • The toughest job in the military?

It's not exactly what you think it is. Read the comment exchange at the end of the article.

...Ashley Joppa-Hagemann says Staff Sgt. Jared Hagemann was scheduled to deploy to Afghanistan this month but he suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder and tried desperately to avoid redeployment. She says he shot himself June 28 at Joint Base Lewis-McChord south of Seattle. She said this would have been her husband’s 9th deployment, while the Army said Wednesday it would have been his 7th...

The comment that generated the exchange:
Erin Mcauliffe Brown RIP my prayers go out to the wife and family. Army wife, toughest job in the military.

Yeah just as being a mother is no longer a natural function of being an adult female human... Oprah and co. made sure we all know that being a mother is 'the toughest job there is' - apparently. I guess if you're an incompetent mother, then perhaps it is tough being a mother, but otherwise, like being a father, it comes somewhat naturally - doesn't it?

I have every sympathy for the wife and family of a soldier who dies.

But that comment from that thick woman is a real kick in the face of all soldiers.

Army wife is not EVEN a job in the Military, let alone a tough one and nothing at all 'toughest'.

If the non-military spouse of a military soldier thinks they have the tougher job, is it any surprise that the soldier gets so little support that they resort to suicide?

The selfish spouse is part of the problem that caused the death.
