  • Male Contraception
Male contraception is a bit like fusion power: it’s just a few years away and has been for over half a century. Is male contraception truly now just a few years away? William Collins reviews the state-of-play, starting with the brief excitement last October.

There was much ado last October (2016) with the publication of the ‘latest’ study (Efficacy and Safetyof an Injectable Combination Hormonal Contraceptive for Men, Hermann Behre et al in The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology...

  • There is equal pay for equal work

What exactly do people want when they say things like “there is no equal pay.” Do they really want the communist approach to everyone earning the same regardless of the effort they put in, the education they have, the hours they work as well as the type of job they chose to do (if any).

Every western nation has had equal pay laws throughout most people’s entire working lives. That doesn’t mean there are not instances where those laws are used, of course: that...

  • Britain and universal suffrage (everyone voting)
A common misrepresentation of feminism is that it gained women the vote. Anti-feminists often meet statements like "so you don't want women to be able to vote." Like silly claims that to be against feminism means wanting to chain women to kitchen sinks, this is just part of feminist propaganda to get people to support the increasingly irrelevant and more obviously harmful business and ideology that is feminism. In discussing history, most people will tell you that women got the...

  • The anti-democratic effect of criminalising men
There are places in the world that remove suffrage from those they class as criminals, sometimes as a matter of course. In some countries, such as the UK, the right to vote is removed depending on the length of sentence and the type of crime. In others, such as the USA, the right to vote is often stripped from any felon, depending on the State. With the documented discrimination against men in the judicial systems causing men to be disproportionately convicted (the justice gender gap) it is clear...
